What should a 5th Grader know about Math by the end of the year?
This is a listing of what well educated professionals feel are the most important things to be teaching our nations 5th graders. Not every state in the United States use these, but a majority of them do. When you first get to this website you will find an introduction to the basic mathematical expectations for 5th graders. If you look over to the left side of the screen you will see the five main areas of their learning which are: Operation & Algebraic Thinking, Number & Operation in Base Ten, Number & Operations-Fractions, Measurement & Data, and Geometry. You can click on any of these links and see exactly what things they will be learning. When I post lessons in the future I will refer to these standards. For your convenience I will link these standards in future post! Contact me or post on here if you have any questions.
